Martien van Winden
Martien van Winden (1957) is founder and manager of Hoofbosch Investment Fund as off 2006.
He has an MBA from Nyenrode University.
Van Winden has more than 30 years of experience as an investor and has held management positions in that area at Robeco and Theodoor Gilissen Bankers.
In 2000 he published, on top of the bull market, his bestseller about the Dutch economic history "Rijk Blijven" ("To Stay Rich"). In this book he warned about the irrational herd behavior of
investors, and advocated an exchange of shares into bonds. In 2001 he published "The Netherlands, Treasury of Europe", about the ups and downs of European unification and the introduction of the euro. This experiment, a single currency, is in his eyes eventually doomed to failure. Finally, he published, together with Dr. Marius Rietdijk, a study on scenario planning: "Battle of the future".
In 2010 he published his most recent book "
De financiele canon van Nederland
" (Dutch Financial Canon).
Van Winden is a frequent speaker and lecturer of Strategic Management at Amsterdam University (VU).
